THE PICTURES STARTED TO “DANCE” · 2026
GIVING THE MUSIC MOVEMENT
What if you could see the music being felt, while feeling it yourself?
WHEN THE PICTURES STARTED TO DANCE
There was a point during the creation of Benirrás Beach Club when we found ourselves staring at a collection of still images and thinking, “This is all very nice, but where's the feeling, where's the emotion?”
The images looked good. They had the colours, the atmosphere, the warmth and the unmistakable sense of somewhere we'd like to be. But something was missing. They were showing us a place without quite allowing us to experience it.
And that mattered, because Benirrás Beach Club has never been about simply listening to music or looking at pretty pictures.
It's supposed to be an experience. A journey.
Something that takes you somewhere emotionally, whether that's a memory of a summer evening, the anticipation of a night ahead or that wonderful feeling of being somewhere you really don't want to leave.
Think about a painting. You don't just look at it. The best ones make you feel something. They can stir a memory, change your mood or leave you staring at them for reasons you can't quite explain.
Music does exactly the same thing.
You don't simply hear a melody or a bassline. You feel it.
So why should the artwork and the music be treated as separate things?
The music already had its own movement, its own ebb and flow, taking you from one feeling to another. The artwork had created the world in which that journey could happen, but we wanted to bring the two together in a way that went beyond sound accompanied by images.
We wanted the visuals to breathe with the music. To have their own life, their own rhythm, their own little moments of movement and discovery. Not to distract from the music, but to become part of the same experience.
And so the pictures needed to dance.
MOVEMENT WITH MEANING
Not everything needed to move, and certainly not all at once.
Sometimes the smallest details make the biggest difference.
The gentle movement of the sea. The suggestion of a breeze through the palms. The feeling that there's life happening just beyond the immediate frame.
Those little things that make a place feel less like something you're looking at and more like somewhere you're actually spending time.
Because there's a difference between seeing a place and feeling as though you're there.
We wanted to capture that feeling of being somewhere, of allowing yourself to become absorbed in the surroundings rather than simply observing them. The kind of experience where you lose track of time, where the atmosphere becomes part of you and where the music and everything around it seem to belong together naturally.
The movement had to serve the feeling, not the other way around.
As the still images began to take on a life of their own, the possibilities became much more exciting. The visuals could do more than establish a setting. They could help carry the journey, creating a sense of atmosphere that developed alongside the music.
And that was the important distinction.
We weren't simply adding movement to pictures.
We were allowing the world of Benirrás Beach Club to evolve.
MORE THAN SOUND AND VISION
There's something interesting about the way we experience music and imagery. Each can evoke powerful emotions independently, but when they come together in the right way, they can create something that feels greater than the sum of its parts.
A particular melody can transport you to a moment in time.
An image can take you somewhere you've never been.
Bring the two together, and suddenly that imagined place can feel remarkably real.
That was the connection we wanted to explore.
The music gives the journey its rhythm. The visuals give it another dimension.
Neither needs to compete with the other. They simply need to belong together.
And when they do, you stop experiencing them as separate elements and begin to absorb them as a whole.
The music creates the emotion. The imagery gives that emotion another way to be experienced.
It's not about illustrating a melody or creating a moving backdrop. It's about allowing sound and vision to work in harmony.
Each contributing something to an experience that neither could quite create alone.
Because the most memorable experiences rarely come from one thing in isolation.
They come from the way everything fits together: the atmosphere, the surroundings, the sounds, the light and the feeling that, for a little while, you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
A WORLD THAT COMES ALIVE
That is what Benirrás Beach Club has always been about; An experience. A journey.
Somewhere to escape to for a while, where the music and the imagery work together to create a feeling that stays with you long after the moment has passed.
The artwork gives that journey a world. The music gives it a pulse. And movement allows the two to come together in a way that feels natural, immersive and alive.
It's another part of the same creative vision that shaped the visual identity in the first place. Every record can have its own character, its own atmosphere and its own emotional direction, while still belonging to the wider world of Benirrás Beach Club.
Now, that world doesn't have to remain within the boundaries of a still image. It can breathe. It can move. It can unfold alongside the music, inviting you to spend time inside it rather than simply glance at it and move on.
And perhaps that's the simplest way to explain what we were trying to achieve.
We wanted the music and the imagery to become inseparable parts of the same experience. Something that draws you in, takes you somewhere and allows you to feel rather than simply observe.
Because Benirrás Beach Club was never meant to be something you simply heard, or something you simply saw...
